Katy is Head of the Commercial Department and specialises in commercial property.
Katy qualified into the commercial property department of a large well respected Staffordshire firm and has worked in the specialism for 16 years.
Katy moved to Hall Smith Whittingham in September 2014. Katy takes a pragmatic commercial approach on her matters achieving an efficient effective service for her clients. As with HSW generally, when an issue arises Katy is keen to find a resolution to the issue to satisfy her clients.
Katy advices on all aspects of Landlord and tenant law including licences to assign and alter, assignments, authorised guarantee agreements. She also advises on site acquisition and plot sales for both commercial developments and residential which often include complex conditional contracts, options and pre-emption agreements. More recently Katy has advised on promotion and exclusivity agreements.
Other areas Katy advises on include finance and banking acting for the borrower and lender together with guarantees and indemnities. She deals with small to medium size business asset sales commercial property sales and purchases and agricultural land.
Katy has acted in the past for housing associations on a multi-million pound residential development in conjunction with Barratt Homes and has acted for a national building society in respect of commercial loans up to a value of £85 million in respect of a large retail park.
Katy has most recently acted in the multi-million pound sale of a large scale industrial investment portfolio and advising a client on a £1.8 million corporate re-finance of an investment property.
In her spare time Katy spends time with her young family. If she does get a rare hour to herself Katy enjoys exercising and seeing friends.
